Margaret Hanlon-Bell has over 25 years of experience and demonstrated success as both a healthcare professional and a senior business leader in the healthcare sector within North America.
She has worked on international teams setting strategy that enabled organizational growth through the provision of products and services that helped to improve the delivery of healthcare. Most recently she was Vice President, Sales and Product Management at Joule Inc. a Canadian Medical Association company. Margaret has sat on Boards of Directors both within healthcare companies and not-for-profit organizations. She currently sits as a Director on the Board of Parkinson Canada.

Amirah Fayek is a strategic leader in the health care industry, with expertise in planning and performance measurement, data management, and financial management.
Amirah is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Saegis including Finance, Information Technology, Evaluation and Accreditation and Governance. Amirah has over 20 years of experience in private and not-for-profit sectors both in Canada and internationally. Experience in various industries such as biotech, financial services, international development and, most recently, health care has allowed her to bring a wealth of insight from various industries and roles.

Lee-Anne is responsible for the planning and direction of practice management solutions that optimize efficiency and reduce risk for healthcare professionals, clinics and institutions.
She has over 35 years of experience as a healthcare professional, clinical manager, sales and marketing professional and senior business leader. Lee-Anne was the founder and executive officer of a successful healthcare corporation that developed resources, devices and platforms designed to support clinicians and their teams in engaging patients on their journey to health. Lee-Anne is passionate about health and is committed to supporting optimal outcomes every step of the way.
- Dr Tom Lloyd, LLM, MB ChB, MD, MRCS, MFFLMDirector, Saegis Safety Institute
Dr Tom Lloyd is responsible for the planning and direction of safety programs for physicians, healthcare professionals and institutions.
Tom qualified from Leicester University Medical School in the UK and trained in General Surgery, becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Leicester as a research fellow. In 2004 he became a medicolegal advisor with the Medical Protection Society in London, UK. In 2008 he obtained a Master in Medical Law and Ethics from DeMontfort University (UK) and became a part time lecturer in medical law at the University. In 2014 he moved to Canada and took on the role of Physician Advisor with the CMPA.

Janet Stewart is a senior executive with over twenty years of experience leading life sciences businesses to achieve organizational success in Canada and globally.
Janet is responsible for leadership of strategic marketing and business development, with a focus on increasing access to Saegis’ broad portfolio of programs designed to enhance the performance of healthcare professionals and improve patient safety. Prior to joining Saegis, Janet was Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Medical Products, where she led several business units to successfully deliver patient centred therapeutic solutions in the acute care sector. Janet was recently principal of a healthcare industry consulting firm which specializes in assisting life sciences companies to expand their customer reach and impact. In addition to her work with Saegis, Janet sits on the Board of Directors for Lakeridge Health Foundation, serving as Chair.

Dr Fady Balaa, MD, FRCSC, MMEdDirector, High-Risk Specialty Programs2Dr Fady Balaa is responsible for the planning and direction of in-depth programs for high-risk specialties. Fady is a general and hepatobiliary surgeon at The Ottawa Hospital.He received an MD degree from the University of Western Ontario, completed general surgery residency training at The University of Ottawa, and completed fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. With an interest in medical education and medical leadership, Fady completed a Masters degree in Medical Education through the Center for Medical Education at the University of Dundee. Lisa Calder, MD, MSc, FRCP(C)CEO, CANADIAN MEDICAL PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION5Dr. Lisa Calder is an emergency physician who undertook her 5-year residency at the University of Ottawa. She completed an emergency medicine research fellowship and obtained her Master of Science degree in epidemiology in 2007. Since finishing her training Dr. Calder has also completed two fellowships: patient safety fellowship in emergency medicine from the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation, and the American Hospital Association’s fellowship in patient safety leadership.
She is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa’s department of Emergency Medicine, and has received the University of Ottawa’s excellence in emergency medicine quality and safety award as well as the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians’ teacher of the year award. She joined the CMPA in 2015 as director of Medical Care Analytics and has been CEO since 2020.person973279
